Outreach Volunteer
Part time volunteer position starting immediately

NOT 1 MORE (N1M) is a campaign group formed in 2021 in direct response to the violence experienced by environmental defenders. We work with environmental defenders in Cambodia and West Africa and aim to forge international connections, recognizing that many individuals and small organizations are extremely isolated from support networks.
Overview
The Outreach Intern works in collaboration with N1M directors and other members of the team. S/he will support global outreach and messaging for the upcoming N1M Forest Defender’s Conference, held in Oxford, UK the 20th-21st of June.
S/he is responsible for the development, maintenance and monitoring of adherence to a global outreach strategy that aims to create vibrant social communities of supporters who are engaged with Not One More’s mission and work. In addition to contributing to quality web and social media content and activity, s/he will work with the team to prepare and execute an outreach strategy for our upcoming conference.
Responsibilities
• Deliver key messaging to external audiences and creatively promote outreach campaigns
• Cultivate relationships to organisations connected to our global outreach efforts
• Research outreach campaign strategies, best practices, and resources
• Create quality content and regular engagement on social media accounts and websites
• Devise practical measures to promote and support the campaigns
• Show good editorial judgement in assessing the suitability of content
• Maintain an ethical and inclusive approach to media practices
Skills and Qualities
• Excellent writing skills
• Self starter, used to delivering high quality work with limited day-to-day management support
• Able to work independently and in a team
• Good organisational abilities; able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
• Good verbal communication skills - able to explain complex issues in clear simple language
• Excellent knowledge of Google Docs / Sheets and facility with word processing software
• Hands-on experience of social media platforms, especially: Twitter, Facebook, Youtube
• experience or skills in videography / video editing is desirable
• experience or skills in graphic design / design software is desirable
• Fluent in English, knowledge of additional languages is desirable
