Dear Nanny/Au pair
We are looking for a new English speaking Nanny (live in or out) for our two adorable children. Our daughter is 8, and our son, is 11. We are a creative and sociable family and we are looking for someone to help us inspire our children to behave responsibly by using a positive approach while able to maintain clear boundaries when needed.
Our children are great company and very warm and friendly, but because they were were adopted, they do sometimes get more easily upset and frustrated. We therefore need someone who has empathy and is tolerant and patient. If you have some knowledge about Specific Educational Learning Differences this would be an advantage as our son has difficulties in reading, writing and maths (dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia). If you are interested in learning more about children with different neurological patterns, adopted children and exploring supportive child psychology approaches, working with our family would provide useful experience.
My husband and I both work together on busy schedules in Visual Effects and Animation for Film and TV in Central London. To meet their different needs, our children go to schools 11 miles apart. Our daughter attends a local school 10 minutes walk away and our son is at a school in Central London which caters for his educational needs. The logistics of meeting these schedules are demanding and often changing. We cannot work without some help, so working us to meet these requirements would be an important part of your duties. Because you would be sharing the responsibility for the children with one of us, and as the schedule sometimes changes, this job requires regular communication.
Our house is a large Victorian one with a long garden 200 ft garden in London. We are lucky to live across the road from a large park and Station in North London (it takes 25 minutes to get to Central London). I work part time. Our previous Au pair enjoyed the privacy of her attic room with it’s en suite bathroom and staircase leading up to it. Locally there is a parade of local shops with everything you could need within 4 minutes walk. There are cafes and restaurants, sports facilities, a library and many other educational and recreational facilities resources nearby which can provide opportunities for your own development and enjoyment.
OUR CONTRACT TO YOU:
The hours are regular Monday - Friday but we can be flexible if needed.
£10-£14 per hour depending on experience.
Evenings: 3pm-7pm = 4 hrs daily.
