We are a family living in south-west London looking for live-in help starting mid-July/August. We are looking for someone to help look after our 4 year old daughter, 2 year old son (and come September a new baby) as well as to help with housework. We are a very friendly family and are looking for someone who will fit in, be proactive and willing to help and, most of all, for someone who loves working with children. We have a good day-to-day routine in London but we would like to hire someone who would be flexible to occasionally travel out of London and on holiday with us (particularly in the summer months). The role is both childcare and helping around the house, basically helping with whatever I do! We would in turn want you to feel at home.
Hours and salary
We would like a Mother's help who will work 45 hours a week with 2 nights a week babysitting (if required). We would be looking to pay a weekly salary of approximately £220 (depending on experience) and food will be covered as an extra. Working hours would usually be Monday-Friday, however, we would be looking for someone who would be flexible to sometimes work on a weekend. Our daughter we be starting school in September from 8.30am-3pm, our son will be in nursery 8.45am -12pm and the baby will be at home!
Examples of duties:
-Looking after our children: Playing in the garden/playroom with their collection of Toys, doing arts and crafts, taking our baby to local baby groups/music classes, taking our children swimming and to other clubs, organising play groups.
- Taking children to and from school or nursery.
- Cooking for the children
- Light cleaning, tidying, washing and ironing.
Accommodation:
We would provide you with a newly decorated double bedroom and shared bathroom (with children). You would also have access to a shower room when guests are not staying (majority of the time). The house is a 5-bedroom house with a kitchen, playroom, sitting room and a garden. We live very nearby Wandsworth Common so there is plenty of green space as well as close to Balham High Road, which is a busy high street. London Victoria is just a 10-minute train ride away or we have Balham tube, which can get you to central London in no time.
Job requirements:
Please send a CV and cover letter to apply and confirm that you have the right to work in the UK.
You will need to
Have good English
Have worked for an English family previously.
Have some baby experience
Ideally have had some responsibility being in sole-charge of children.
Be confident at looking after young children.
Have recent references
(Recent DBS check beneficial)
Ideally have a paediatric first aid certificate (or be willing to do a course in this)
