Nanny for Hampstead Boys in London

Posted: 9 days ago
Place: West Hampstead NW6

Lovely nanny required 4 days pw (Mon-Thursday) in West Hampstead for British/Canadian family of two beautiful boys (6 and 3 years ).
School drop + afternoon + on-call for child home from school/holidays. Normal week is ~25 hours.
Salary is £400 pw net (£1,733 pcm take home) base with top-ups for holidays or kids at home - to acknowledge the full time requirement at those times. Holiday pay covered.
Midday is generally yours for courses or other casual work. For example, there are babies/families on our street that may have interest in casual daytime help, if the extra income is desired. Boys in school/nursery/camp 9am-3pm.
Ideally, an Aug 2022 start/transition is preferred, but we could get through a bit of September for the right person.
Preference for a nanny who already lives close to NW6, but energy, cooking talents, and engagement of a 6 year old in reading, writing and drawing will Trump. We are not yet at 7 + entrance exam prep, but we build towards it with imagination. Native or fluent English speaker.
Hours: 7:30-6:30pm, but 5 hours in middle of day (Mon-Wed) are yours for courses or other, unless a child is sick and home from school.  Perhaps also Thursday. Day starts at 7:30am to ready boys and drop 3 year old off at nursery by 8:45. School pick-up generally from 3pm. Thursday may be earlier. Mum gets home 6pm ish. Friday is a potential need, in time. Additional babysitting hours are possible, if desired.
Duties: child-related (dinner prep and feed, lunchbox prep, reading and writing homework, drop-offs/pick-ups, afternoon activities on 2-3 days, playdates with classmates, bath time, child clean-up, supervise and motivate tidy-up time) and a bit of household-related (light tidy, unload dishwasher, fold away dry laundry, and a bit of food-prep, ie. Make rice or boil potatoes). We have a cleaner that we love, so that is already sorted.
Qualities sought:
Love of all things made with wheels or engines, Lego, books, paints, music and sports.
Organised and cheerful. Patient and firm, but positive discipline approach.
Reliable and excellent at time-keeping.
Flexibility and sense of humour
Required: Recent childcare references that can be checked, first aid, and DBS or willingness to undertake.
