We’re a professional couple in Greenwich looking for a nanny to work 3 days a week (approximately 33 hours total) looking after our bright and energetic 4.5 year old boy and very happy and independent 2.5 year old. Additional hours may be possible subject to mutual consent to provide additional cover during periods when one or the other of us is travelling with work (1-2 times per month max). The position is available commencing September 2022, and is a live-out role. We are just in the process of moving house, and will have a spacious house with large garden within 5 minutes walk of Greenwich main line/DLR station. Please note depending on the timing of our move, the role may initially be based in Blackheath.
We are looking for someone who ideally has at least two years experience in sole charge of multiple children including experience with both toddlers and early school-age children. The ideal candidate will be kind, patient and fun, but with the ability to be organised and offer consistency and structure to the children’s day. We’d also like someone who loves the outdoors and is not put off by the London weather! We would like someone who is generally happy to use public transport as the children love the buses and trains, although use of the family car may be possible.
Responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the children’s development through stimulating play
- Creating a routine for our toddler to consist of a variety of structured and unstructured activities, to support her physical, emotional, and intellectual development
- Taking and collecting elder child from school (Blackheath Prep)
- Supporting the elder child with basic homework (reading, handwriting, etc)
- Organising activities and play dates
- Preparing healthy fresh children’s meals
- Cleaning up after children (not general housework, we have a cleaner) - and encourage the children to tidy up for themselves
- Children’s laundry and ironing
We will require the candidate to speak fluent English, be OFSTED registered, with a valid CRB check, to have references covering at least two years work, ideally including sole care of at least two children, and with a paediatric 1st aid qualification. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience and references.
