Peabody has an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Trade Apprentice to join our team in London. The successful applicant will join us on a full time fixed term basis of 2 years and will receive a competitive salary of £14,250 per annum + Benefits.

The Multi-Trade Apprentice role:
The Handy Persons service offers a wide range of services to residents that are over 65 years and/or have a registered disability. The team carry out DIY, maintenance and decorating jobs in residential properties across London. This is an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to learn a trade and gain valuable experience. Successful completion will lead to a City and Guilds, NVQ Level 2 Construction Maintenance and Operations.
Key responsibilities of our Multi-Trade Apprentice:
To support an experienced Handy Person to carry out a range of painting and decorating and general maintenance jobs including:
- Painting and decorating
- Replacing existing light shades, tubes, bulbs and fuses.
- Fitting smoke alarms (battery-operated only)
- Installing doorbells
- Bleeding radiators
- Assembling flat-packed furniture
- Fitting/changing locks
- Fitting curtain rails and shelves
- Putting Hooks on walls, hanging mirrors and pictures.
- Moving and assembling small pieces of furniture.
- Cosmetic repairs to paintwork, varnish and wallpaper.
- Fitting towel rails
- Ensure the provision of excellent customer services to all stakeholders in order to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Participate in training to develop a wide range of skills within the handy service function.
Knowledge/experience/skills required by the Multi-Trade Apprentice:
- Willingness to learn new skills and be flexible in your approach.
- Ability to communicate sensitively with a wide range of people.
- Awareness of health and safety and risk related issues.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Practical DIY skills
- Available for an immediate start (Desirable)
- A-D / /9-4 grade in Maths and English equivalent to a level 1 qualification.
Closing date and time: Wednesday 26th September 5.00pm.
Interviews are due to take place on the 3rd October 2022 with a proposed start date of mid-October.
