Peabody has an exciting opportunity for aMulti-Trade Apprentice to join our team in London. The successful applicant will join us on a full time or part time fixed term basis and will receive a salary of £5,200-£9,360 per annum.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain some valuable work experience as a Multi Trade Operative Apprentice for The Handy Person Service, whilst gaining an NVQ qualification through day release learning.
The successful Multi-Trade Apprentice will be working in people’s homes, undertaking a wide range of jobs such as Painting and Decorating, Tiling, Gardening, General Maintenance and Carpentry.
Main duties of the Multi-Trade Apprentice
- Assist Multi Skilled Manager and Operatives to deliver a minor repair and decorating service to vulnerable tenants, schemes and community facilities across London.
- Work with a Multi Skilled Operative ensuring the Multi Skilled Manager and relevant staff are informed of any maintenance issues around the building.
- To ensure the provision of excellent customer services to all stakeholders in order to maximize customer satisfaction.
- To train and acquire valuable skills in designated area.
- To participate in training to develop a wide range of skills.
- To ensure compliance with all Health and Safety regulations and procedures.
- To give and receive feedback on work performance with manager.
- To prioritise work and study.
Knowledge, experience and skills required by the ideal Multi-Trade Apprentice:
Essential
- Willingness to learn new skills and be flexible in your approach.
- Ability to communicate sensitively with a wide range of people.
- Awareness of health and safety and risk related issues.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Practical DIY skills
Desirable
Full clean manual driving licence.
Please Note:
Hours: 35 hours per week including 1 day at college.
Qualification: You do not have to have any qualifications for this role. However people who have a degree or a NVQ L4 qualification are not eligible for this vacancy and you must be between the ages of 16 and 24.
Salary: This is a two year apprenticeship with the salary rising from £100 per week to £180 after six months upon successful completion of the probation period. Staff will work 3 days a week and one day on their NVQ development (as the NVQ is work based this could be working in the service with a bias toward covering the units required).
