Established in 1999 the Octopus Community Network (Octopus) is a group of pioneering community organisations working collaboratively to provide services and opportunities that support the most deprived communities in London.
The We Can Grow Project, a major project run by Octopus, is funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund. We Can Grow is about working with communities across Islington to create growing spaces on housing estates, encouraging people to get outdoor and to make Islington more green.
The Project has a small electric Milk Float that it uses to create ‘pop up’ gardening activities on estates and parks around Islington encouraging residents to join in fun activities with us.
We are looking for experienced drivers with a clean driving license to join our pool of hourly paid sessional and self employed freelance drivers who we can work with us to drive the milk float to and from a range of different activities and events.
Our activities and events can be during the day, at weekends and in the evenings.
Casual Sessional Worker – Hourly Rate of Pay £12.50
Self Employed Free Lancer – Hourly Rate of pay - £18.50 (as you are required to pay your own Paye and National Insurance contributions)
