Based in a beautiful part of London, just 2 minutes walk from Hyde Park, and close to the V and A and the Natural History Museum, the Gloucester Road Oxfam shop is one of the busiest shops in London. Our aim is to fight poverty all around the world by raising as much money as possible by selling the items, which are donated to us.
Men’s Fashion Specialist volunteer will help us to increase Oxfam’s sales by sorting, pricing and displaying our great donations of clothing using your knowledge of fashion and provide a high standard of customer service.
You will:
- Sorting donations of men’s clothes given to us to determine which items will sell well.
- Pricing the items
- Researching rare and/or expensive items of men’s clothes in order to price them accurately.
- Using your own knowledge of fashion in order to create window displays attracting potential customers
- Providing polite and friendly service to the customers to increase their satisfaction and make them come back to Oxfam
No previous experience is needed, so don’t be afraid to apply, if you are successful, full training will be given. So if you are committed to fighting poverty, willing to learn new skills, and consider yourself a reliable and responsible person, then this opportunity is for you.
You will have an opportunity to:
- Train and operate as a Men’s Fashion Specialist
- Learn more about fashion brands
- Gain retail experience
- Become a part of an international team committed to fighting poverty
- Lunch costs and reasonable travel expenses can be reimbursed in line with Oxfam policies
- References available
- Meet new people and make new friends
At least one 4-hour shift a week. Shifts are 10 am- 2 pm and 2 pm- 6 pm (Monday- Saturday) and 12 pm- 5 pm (Sunday).
