We are looking for a full time medical secretary/PA for a private gynaecology practice in Paddington, W2 working for three female gynaecologists. This is a full-time post covering maternity leave and, in the first instance, will be available for nine months to start mid October. Salary IRO £25-28,000 per annum depending on experience.
The post is based in a shared office in the private wing of a central London hospital in Paddington, W2 working 37.5 hours per week. The job entails making clinic appointments, answering telephone queries from patients, making up notes, filing letters/ results and billing patients / insurance companies.
In addition, there will be letters to be typed up for GPs and patients, although the majority of typing is done by an external agency and the secretary will need transfer these onto headed paper. So although good typing skills are advantageous, these are not essential.
The successful candidate should be efficient, well organised, flexible, computer literate and be a quick learner. Fluent English is essential as are good communication skills and a pleasant telephone manner with patients. Previous experience as a medical secretary is an advantage but is not essential as there will be a 2 week paid handover /training period. There will be support from the consultants and other secretaries in the office. Good references (which will be checked) are essential.
