A leading mechanical contractor is looking for multiple charge hands in the London area.
Job purpose:
Ensure that the Project runs Safely to Programme with resources installing to the correct Specification and quality standards, ensuring forward thinking and planning of work areas and materials being available with focus on the labour control and eliminating waste.
Key Accounta bilities:
• To ensure delivery and maintenance of each job programme by effectively scheduling work, allocating resources and organising labour.
• To ensure that defined quality standards are achieved in each job.
• To ensure that health and safety standards are maintained in each job.
• To ensue that each job is undertaken cost effectively in order to maximize the profitability of each job.
• To represent the company in a professional manner when dealing with site agents and contractors.
Duties:
• Scheduling work in order to achieve job programme requirements.
• Organising and managing labour on site, including Sub Contracted Elements. Witness testing of works by sub-contractors, and signing off of test sheets.
• Making sure work areas are ready and available prior to labour going to start. Ensure that the foreman has obtained the relevant sign off sheet to commence work.
• Ensuring setting out and marking out is done and that we have the latest drawing for that area before starting. Latest drawings will be listed on the weekly drawing register.
• Ensuring that operatives are able to work on price work, minimising daywork.
• Advise foreman of materials required inline with the specification and our tendered scope.
• Checking and organising materials and plant for the job in a cost effective manner.
• Monitoring quality of work.
• Ensuring that the Testing is carried out in accordance with the Test and Inspection Plan, witnessed and signed off
• Monitoring adherence to health and safety standards, ensuring that all staff follow our procedures correctly.
• Attending site meetings, as required, to discuss job programme progress and future requirements.
• Liaison with other trade supervisors regarding programme progress and problems.
• Liaison with health and safety inspectors/advisers as required.
• Advise the site foreman of any issues or changes that may arise on site.
