SUMMARY:
As a Meat and Seafood Team Member you will maintain a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service. Supports the Meat/Seafood Team Leader and Regional Product Coordinator in maintaining regional standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, receiving and preparing product and maintaining the Meat/Seafood area and selling the product.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Receives, unloads, and puts away product delivery.
2. After training should be able to cuts and prepare all products for the floor displays and Meat/Seafood cases.
3. Ensures a fresh and appealing case by checking codes, rotating products, and removing old or out-of-date products.
4. Maintains correct department signage and pricing.
5. Weighs, prices, and packages customer selections.
6. Answers customer questions, and practices suggestive selling.
7. Assists with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing.
8. Follows and complies with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adheres to safe work practices.
9. Operates and sanitizes all Meat/Seafood equipment in a safe and proper manner.
10. Answers department telephone calls and pages quickly and with excellent phone etiquette.
11. Performs other duties as assigned by the Meat Team Leader, Associate Team Leader, or Supervisor.
INTELLECTUAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
2. Knowledgeably communicate the product line to the customer.
3. Ability to understand customers’ needs.
4. Ability to perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
5. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with other Team Members and leadership.
6. Ability to understand and complete departmental transfers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Must be able to work up to a maximum of 8-10 hours per day.
2. Stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break.
3. Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders.
4. Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 75 pounds, unassisted.
5. Push and pull carts, weighing up to 100 pounds, unassisted.
6. Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness and to check signage and labelling for accurate pricing.
7. Demonstrated proficiency in the proper use of a dumpster, baler, knives, and all related equipment.
8. Must be able and willing to use a knife to prepare meat/seafood.
9. Must be able to handle off Meat / Seafood products.
Work Environment
1. Environmental exposure: temperature extremes (coolers, freezer, outdoors), wet areas.
2. Work in a moderately noisy environment.
3. Work on a variety of floor surfaces including tile and concrete.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
1. Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
2. Willingness to receive constructive feedback pertaining to job performance.
3. Willingness to provide exemplary customer service constantly and consistently.
4. Good communication skills.
