Party Ingredients Catering Services is looking for a Marketing Manager to ensure that our brand image, and those of our partner venues are current, energetic and attractive.
Introduction
This role will encompass all aspects of PI’s public face. From web design, to vehicle sign writing via staff uniform, the role of the Marketing Department is to ensure that the image of Party Ingredients and our associated venues is current, relevant and competitive in our target markets. This role is based within the Sales team and reports to the Managing Director. The team is made up of the Sales Director, 7 Sales Managers, an Events Admin Assistant, the Marketing Manager and a Marketing Intern (who is managed by and reports to the Marketing Manager).
Job Description
You should expect the following key activities to feature on a daily basis – the role will offer variety and creative opportunity and it is up to the individual to balance these aspects with the more repetitive “housekeeping” tasks that are crucial to effective marketing (database management etc).
• Creating and implementing venue marketing campaigns
- Intern management
- Managing and updating existing venue websites
- Venue specific database management
- Social media marketing (Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest)
- Producing/updating artwork and other marketing collateral (InDesign and other)
- PR, liaising with external suppliers
- Producing, designing and distributing monthly e-newsletter
- SEO, analysis and reporting
- Budget management and planned expenditure
- Supporting the sales team
Events
You will be involved in events from the very first week, as we feel it is crucial that you engage with our clients and fully understand the events that we undertake. Content gathering for blogging, Twitter, Instagram etc will all happen live and is great at events. Venue managers value our marketing activity and creating personal connections with venue teams and their marketing departments is very valuable. Finally, marshalling our “look” on the frontline is very useful role for the Marketing Manager at events. We want to document our work at its best, and tweaking cloths, food display and overall look is sometimes a valuable contribution to make.
About You
This is a senior level appointment and we will be looking for the following attributes in our candidates:
• Immaculate personal presentation
• Perfect spoken and written English
• experience of the London events market
• Strong IT skills, with a good eye for layout and presentation
• Good food and drinks knowledge
• A real understanding of social media and how best to deploy it in the corporate environment.
• Creative flair and style
• Personal drive and ambition
This role will suit a marketing professional from a small environment who has experience in all areas that we have mentioned. The role is varied, busy and creative and will suit a "generalist" marketing all rounder who enjoys brand strategy, creative design and has good experience in database building and management.
About Us
Party Ingredients is a longstanding London caterer with a reputation for fine food and drink, a 21st Century approach to sustainability, including paying a Living Wage to all employees, the ability to deliver to a consistently high standard and an eye for creative detail.
We are different from many of our competitors in that we run a largely in house operation – all food is made by us in our prep kitchens, from Petit fours, to ice creams to specialist breads; we own our own equipment rather than using hire companies and we have our own team of staff, rather than using agencies. We are active in the private and corporate markets, as well as having a reputation for large scale, set piece formal events (State banquets and receptions etc). We are disciplined and hard working, flexible and profitable catering between 20 and 30 events each week.
We are accredited at many of London’s best events venues, we have a portfolio of contracted venues across the City, central and west London. We invest in the development of our team with in house and outsourced accreditations, stage placements and tailored training programs.
We have a hands on team of directors who cater on a daily basis with their teams – we are looking for a highly skilled, highly motivated events / marketing professional to join our very successful operation.
Progression
Within the sales department, the scope for progression lies with more responsibility for brand management, promotional activity, in tendering for new work and in brand development.
We are lucky to be active in the corporate, private and state sectors and we have different competitors in each market sector. Through networking, keeping a close eye on food and drink trends and developments, having a good feel for promotional activity on behalf of our venues, we can ensure that we gain market share in each sector without discounting. The mark of a skilled events / marketing professional is to bring together a range of skills – efficient administration, the ability to find a creative advantage, likeability, speed and organisation, a good network of contacts – both suppliers and other food and drink professionals with whom we might collaborate – to create great marketing opportunities. Our aim is to support our sales team in their pursuit of these skills and then encourage our managers use their skills for the growth of the company.
As the Company develops, the Marketing department will grow with it – additional venues, offshoot brands, PR campaigns and project work will all demand different technical skills and personal organisation at the highest level.
Salary
£28,000pa based on 5 days each week plus an average of one evening per week at events and including very occasional weekend days ( a day off in lieu is given in this instance). Incentivised gym membership scheme, cycle to work scheme, employee profit share.
