Marketing and Sales Assistant

Established in 1994, *Research is an independently owned publisher of authoritative news, analysis and comment on research policy, research funding and research politics. Our UK magazine Research Fortnight is essential reading across universities, funding agencies, governments, parliaments and learned societies, while Research Europe occupies a similar role in the EU. We provide updates by email for more than 100,000 paid-for online subscribers. In short, we are at the centre of many debates at the intersection of science and politics.
The Role
The company is looking for Marketing and Sales Assistant to join their commercial team at an exciting time of year-on-year growth and development. This new opportunity will be at the heart of the sales and marketing activities in support of our subscription sales and customer support information.
The role involves fulfilling marketing and community manager tasks and supporting the sales and customer services teams with day-to-day requirements. You will carry out communication with relevant personnel in our markets; customers at both central and end user level and potential customers in all existing and new territories. This will include:
Producing compelling marketing copy and promotional material.
Maintaining our library of existing materials (marketing brochures, users guides, etc) in line with brand guidelines and a constantly evolving core product.
Undertaking targeted email campaigns (using Dotmailer)
Analysing and managing customer and client data.
Conducting research
Submitting social media posts
Developing and sending direct mail pieces.
Monitoring our campaign performance against KPIs.
Managing the User Groups
Manage events - both internal and external.
Manage Google Adwords Campaigns
Developing social media strategy
The Person
The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience working in a comparable role with a proven track record - comfortable working with B2B information products/services and able to communicate clearly and effectively with an expert, professional community.
You will be professional, diligent, enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to work well both individually and as part of a team. You must have a strong work ethic as well as excellent written and spoken communication skills. You should be technically competent with word, excel and Dotmailer amongst other applications.
