Simon Marks Jewish Primary School is looking for a consultant / self-employed Marketing and Networking Specialist to raise the roll and profile of our high achieving and popular school, through active networking and marketing.
The School and the Role
Simon Marks Jewish Primary School is a vibrant one-form entry school in North London. The School is committed to provide the very best education for all of its pupils.
As a Jewish Primary school, Jewish studies and Hebrew teaching is a core part of the curriculum.  The children are from a range of diverse backgrounds and everybody is valued within the School’s inclusive community.
In its most recent Ofsted report, the school was rated ‘Good’.  In recent years, Year 6 leavers have gone on to our local Hackney secondary schools and a range of highly regarded secondary schools including Latymer, JCoSS, Highgate and JFS.
Having recently invested in building a state of the art Early Years facility, the School is currently seeking to work with a proactive communications and marketing consultant to help grow the school roll.
The role would be to:
A)      ensure that as many parents and carers as possible come and view the school, manage the tours in liaison with the school leadership and follow up all interested parties;
B)      raise the profile of Simon Marks JPS among the local Jewish community and wider public, including the use of social media, press and other relevant channels;
C)       leverage the network of families and individuals from both inside and outside the school community to help in its promotion;
D)      develop and lead on marketing events that generate sustainable positive public interest;
E)      actively engage with community events (both Jewish and otherwise) where relevant e.g. Chabad Islington Chanukah Lighting; Schools’ Maccabi football tournaments etc.;
F)       be committed to the school’s inclusive Jewish ethos;
G)      increase the number of applications to Simon Marks JPS nursery and/or reception classes.
H)      provide regular updates on progress to governors.

Ability to use IT and data packages to produce, research, refine, report and analyse information;
Conduct focus groups / stakeholder surveys or other tools necessary to develop information and expertise;
Knowledge and understanding of Jewish communal life is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications and experience
It would be beneficial to have experience and a successful track record raising community engagement, through marketing.
All potential candidates must be keenly aware of the responsibility for safeguarding children and to help in the application of the Safeguarding and Safe Practices policies within the school.
Dates
The position can be part time, the candidate self-employed.
Remuneration and hours are attractive and negotiable according to experience, within the budget of £20-25,000.
The deadline for application is March 29th  Midday.
Interviews will be held in the school between 9-13th April.
Candidate will need to become DBS checked.

Success Criteria

Increase the school roll (in all years including nursery).
Increase the number of relevant parental enquiries for children's admission to Simon Marks.  As a key subset of this the number of parents / carers visiting the school to be shown around.
Increase the number of meaningful meetings held with decision markets at target feeder organisations (nurseries, synagogues, other Jewish organisations).

The number of networking/promotional events attended.
As a key subset of this the number of parents/carers that can be ‘captured’ with contact details for follow up.
