Managing Couple required to run a successful existing business of 35 years. The business is a Country Hall located in Norfolk, available for hire with 16 bedrooms and 20 acres of garden and grounds for house parties, re-unions anniversaries, family gatherings, weddings etc.
One half of the couple would typically be front of house, bookings and administration of the Groups. The other would be involved in other areas of management, including the running of the Hall and maintenance, and be a keen cook. You will be responsible for bookings from responding to incoming enquiries, right through to the hosting of the final event/weekend. Groups come on a self-catering, part, or full catering basis.
Although the Groups form an important part of the business, the day to day running of the home team and their activities and the maintenance of the Hall also take a lead part.
Though we are not solely a wedding venue, we host an average of 6 weddings per year. You will be responsible for these bookings from the initial enquiry stage right through to the smooth running of the day. You will be meeting with the couples to show them round the property, assisting with planning their wedding and offering advice and recommendations. You will be present on the day, managing both front and back of house to deliver a seamless service.
experience of bookkeeping and accounts and some knowledge of computers is beneficial. You will be expected to work with the owners existing management systems.
The successful couple will have a sense of humour, be energetic, enthusiastic and personable. The ability to build a good rapport with guests and staff is essential. You will have the ability to manage an established team as well as enjoy working hands on as part of the team.
In addition, general handyman skills and knowledge of ducks and sheep would be beneficial, but training will be provided.
One person must hold a Full UK driving license for running errands, shopping etc.
A 3 bedroom cottage with enclosed garden is provided on the premises. Council Tax and Water bills are included in the package.
Your normal working hours will be 40 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday from 8am to 5.30pm. Flexibility will be required for managing groups in and out of the premises on non-working days, as well as catering during the weekend.
Previous management experience is required – which could be in a variety of fields. You will be given full support from the owners who continue to be involved in the running of the business and reside at the property part time.
Excellent references will be required.
