Barworks and The Good Life Diner group is looking for a full-time Head of Maintenance to join our expanding company.
We are an award-winning group of bars and restaurants located across London with a total of 23 sites.
The group is comprised of 12 pubs, with a focus on craft beer, boutique spirits and classic cocktails, alongside fresh and exciting food. We are passionate about the food and beverage industry, delivering outstanding customer service and friendly hospitality. Alongside the pubs we have 10 American themed fast casual restaurants under ‘The Diner’ brand, with a passion for excellent food and service.
We are expanding and now looking to hire an experienced maintenance manager to be part of that growth, overseeing our maintenance team.
You will be managing a team of four maintenance staff across the group, as well as working closely with the Head of Operations for the two groups and the company Directors. This role relies on a high degree of organisation and management capabilities.
Your duties will include:
• Oversee and manage the maintenance team on a daily basis
• Assign tasks to relevant staff, and ensure the timely completion of all tasks.
• Ensure HMO Safety Standards are maintained throughout the group.
• Take immediate action where an emergency is identified.
• Manage and complete both preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Liaise with site General Managers, Head Chefs, and the operations teams in closing out any maintenance issues.
• Establish excellent working relationships with our suppliers and contractor base.
• Utilise our online maintenance system, Teamwork to log, track and provide an audit trail of all works completed.
• Ensure all legislation, including safety certificates relating to the properties are kept up to date.
• Work flexibly by managing own time to ensure service levels targets are maintained. This may include being on-call.
Work across multiple sites across London and sites outside London as required.
This role requires you to be highly organised, self motivated, and to take ownership of a growing department. You must thrive in a very challenging, fast paced environment as well as working closely and hands on with your team. The ideal candidate will have the following attributes / facilities available to you:
• A good understanding and working of electrics and plumbing
• Competancy and prior experience of working with gas
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to problem solve and think outside of the box
• experience of undertaking building / general maintenance work
• Able to plan and manage own workload using own initiative
• Ability to record and manage accurate information and detailed data.
• Able to work as part of a team and support colleagues
• Ability to work weekends and public holidays in emergency situations
