Turk Launches are seeking an enthusiastic Maintenance Engineer to work at their base in Kingston upon Thames on the repair and servicing of a fleet of five Thames passenger vessels.
Responsibilities
As Maintenance Engineer you will ensure that general and preventative maintenance and repairs are carried out in all areas of the fleet. The Maintenance Engineer will also perform some basic repairs on mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Maintenance and preventative maintenance projects.
- Responding to engineering and maintenance problems in a timely manner.
- Maintaining vessels, piers, and office in good repair by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical and engineer.
- Assisting the General Manager in specifying and maintaining appropriate stocks of spares and consumables for smooth running of the maintenance operations.
- Upkeep of maintenance records, stock control, health and safety records, and risk assessments.
- Ability to problem solve and be a team player.
Desirable skills:
- Mechanical engineering knowledge for maintenance and repair of various types of equipment.
- Knowledge of Diesel Engines/Generators
- Knowledge of DC Electrical systems and practice including repairing electrical appliances.
- Plumbing knowledge and practice including basic plumbing skills, ability to do basic installations and plumbing repair jobs.
- General aesthetic work, painting, sanding etc…
- Good knowledge of common hand and power tools.
- experience in welding
- Previous maintenance experience in the Marine Industry.
