We have two lovely boys of 6 and 8 years old. Both boys are at school – with the oldest starting a new school in September.
We are a down to earth family (English Mother and NZ Father) looking for an experienced, loving, diligent, creative and organized live-in nanny to look after our boys. Both of the boys are very affectionate, lots of fun, with good manners and generally really good natured - and are not tantrumers (thank goodness!). Our eldest is sensitive and sweet natured, he reacts well to a caring and consistent nanny. Our youngest is a cheeky little chappy and will take a mile, if he can!
We have been fortunate to have had three great nannies so far. Our first kiwi nanny was with us for two years until the day before she left the UK (and we still keep in contact many later!). Our second nanny was from the UK and stayed with us for 2.5 years (and has now had a baby of her own!). Our current Aussie nanny has been with us for two years and is leaving as her visa is coming to an end.
We are looking for another fab nanny – who will care for and love the boys, help with their homework, organize playdates and look after them generally on a day to day basis. The nanny must be proactive and be happy to Muck in with the family/house (we do also have a cleaner). The candidate must be an experienced car driver (school runs) and have English as their first language, as well as previous experience and good references. It is an added bonus if she has qualifications, experience within the boys’ age group and has previous experience as a nanny.
Duties include:
- sole charge during your working hours
- preparing healthy meals
- taking boys to activities / organising playdates
- helping the boys develop and doing homework with them
- doing the boys laundry and ironing
- cleaning up after them
- keeping their rooms and play areas generally clean and tidy
- taking delivery of the food shop every Monday AM.
Our current nanny will leave on 21 July and we would ideally like someone to start a week or two beforehand – so that there is a handover period.
You will have your own bedroom and bathroom (plus tv and wifi of course), as well as use of the playroom in the evenings. The hours are 7.30am to 7pm, with two nights babysitting per week (although we usually don't use both) and four weeks paid holiday. The salary is £350 net per week, and you will have use of the nanny car for nanny duties.
Essential to have:
- fluent English (speech and writing)
- driving license
- references and relevant past experience
- be a non-smoker
- able to commit to at least a year
- hold a current CRB check (or be prepared to get one)
- qualifications and past live-in nanny experience are a plus.
