We are a friendly bilingual French-English speaking family of 5 including three children aged 9, 6 and 4 (one boy and two girls). The mum is a molecular biologist who works in cancer and the dad works in business and travels frequently. Both have demanding jobs and therefore need an au pair to help out with the children. We would like somebody to start as soon as possible.
We are looking for an au pair who would work in the mornings and after school, as well as one full day a week looking after our 4-year old daughter. You will have time off during the day to explore London or learn English. We are looking for someone kind, caring, enthusiastic and flexible to be part of our family for a year. We understand that living in London is a great opportunity and we want to help the au pair make the best of it. There are plenty of au pairs living in the area and we would be happy to introduce them.
The working hours would be 7-9am and 3-7pm 4 times a week, as well one full day a week looking after our 4-year old daughter (7am-7pm). We would need babysitting twice a week, including three Saturday nights a month. You will have a single bedroom with wifi, TV with Amazon Prime, NETFLIX and a shared bathroom with the children. As well as room and board, we will pay you £135/ week pocket money. We have a cleaning lady who comes regularly, but we would expect the au pair to help keep the house tidy and do some light housework (empty dishwasher, fold the laundry, etc).
As the older two children frequently have after-school activities in different places, we have a lovely lady who helps out in the afternoons, so the childcare would be shared during after-school hours.
We live in the outskirts of London, about 30 minutes from the centre by tube in a semi-detached house with a garden. The neighbourhood we live in is quiet and safe with several local parks. The school and nursery are all within walking distance from our house, as is the closest tube station Finchley Central. There are lots of shops, cafes and restaurants within walking distance of the house. There are also English-language schools nearby attended by many au pairs if you were interested in taking lessons.
A French-speaker would be a bonus but we are open to anyone who would be the right match for our family. If you are a non-smoker and interested in this position, please send me your cv with a picture and contact number. Please apply if you meet the following criteria:
- You are currently living in London
- You speak either English or French to a good standard
- Have experience looking after children
- Have references for childcare work (including regular babysitting)
