Would you like to join our team of carers/buddies/babysitters?
We have 4 boys all with high functioning autism. They are self caring, they are not behavioural. See my facebook blog - A Parent's Guide to Coping with Autism for photos, videos etc. The boys are 18,18, 16 and 9.
We do not need special needs experience but we do need people with excellent English, a vibrant personality, lots of energy and enthusiasm.
The role varies from:
Some hours with one of the older boys taking him to gigs or comedy or just 'hanging' out.
Helping with English and Maths homework at foundational level 2.
Taking two or more of the boys into Central London to galleries, markets, museums.
Babysitting evenings and after school (from 4 pm) preparing supper etc.
The hours vary each week on an ad hoc basis. During term time, there are less hours and the odd weekend day. During school holidays which are longer than mainstream ones, there are lots of full days available. We need someone available all year round to cover both term time and holidays.
The role tends to suit either mature students studying part time or people working part time who are flexible with hours.
The boys need young role models/buddies/friends rather than people 'nannying' them. So ideally someone in their 20s and guys are very welcome to apply.
We need you to live locally to East Sheen/Richmond - or within an easy commute. Roehampton and St Mary's Universities are both local to us.
Hourly rate of £13.25.
Please include a contact phone number with your application.
