Local Babysitter Needed in London

Posted: Today
Place: East Sheen, Greater London

We have 4 boys all with high functioning autism. They are all verbal and self caring but they need buddies to take them out and babysitters when they are at home. They sometimes go out solo or in pairs or with friends but need a carer with them still.
The twins are just 19. One is a musician and the other an artist and a very keen/fast runner. Our 16 yr old is pretty independent and our 9 yr old is just gorgeous and loves people to play with.
This job ideally suits a mature student or someone already working part time as we have no guaranteed hours each week. We have 21 weeks of school holidays to cover so we employ people for full days during holidays but, in term time, we need help after school. Sometimes helping with maths and English homework, sometimes teaching one of the older boys to cook. Babysitting/after school means cooking and clearing up after tea, even better if you can get the boys to help you do this. Our youngest is the only one who requires help with bathtime, bedtime story still.
We would like someone who is free on some Friday evenings to take one of the boys to live gigs or to comedy/quiz nights. We also sometimes have people on Sundays to take a couple of the boys out for the day.
They enjoy galleries, markets, cinema, swimming, gym etc.
They have no behaviours so we don't require anyone to have special needs experience. We would like someone who is interested in making a difference to their lives and to be 'mates' with them. They are not just a job. They also need some help with social skills and corecting their daily interactions. The boys are all very social and we have a great team of helpers who are in their mid twenties.
Our main requirement is excellent English as the boys have a language disorder. Guys are very welcome to apply. We also need you to be over 21.
We really need you to live locally. I often need to go to parents evenings etc after school and it's not practical for people to travel long distances for a few hours work. I know that people will travel for full days in holidays and weekends but I give priority for work in the holidays to those who support us in term time.
Please look at my Facebook page A Parent's Guide to Coping with Autism to read more about the boys and what they get up to.
Can you include a contact phone number and where you live on your application please. Many thanks.
