We are looking for a special person to join our family and take over the important role of nurturing and guiding a 9 and 10 year old. We are especially looking for someone with a mature disposition, a bubbly and compassionate temperament, a real love of children and a zest for imparting learning.
The role comprises managing all aspects of the children’s lives from after school clubs and playdates to ensuring homework and music practice is completed, and personal and learning goals are achieved. School pick ups will require a driver. Cleaning and tidying their bedrooms and playroom and all incentive schemes to get the children involved in this too is also part of the role. Other staff are employed and therefore no cooking or laundry is necessary but cooking with the children is welcome.
Approximately three hours a day will also be spent carrying out admin assistance related to the parents and the smooth-running of the household and family life.
The role would suit someone with previous experience in a household with children of similar ages or older and managing homework. Computer proficiency will be essential, as well as the ability to work on your own initiative and foresee tasks that need to be addressed. Most important will be an attitude of responsibility, cooperation and flexibility as you will be part of a small team.
Candidates will need to show that they have stayed with families for more than two years as this is a long term position. They will also need to speak English fluently and be able to provide excellent references.
The working week is Monday to Friday 10am till 8pm though often the family go to the countryside on Friday evenings and then a 6pm finish is likely.
