This is an unusual job for an experienced and well presented Housekeeper who speaks excellent English!
You will be working for a family who are based in a beautiful property in Belgravia. The Principals, although not English, live here full time, and the gentleman travels often. Their children are 16,12 and 5 - the eldest is away at boarding school and the other two have full time nannies so there is no childcare with this job.
The house is fully staffed with housekeepers, laundress, chauffeur ,private chef and a PA. Your role will be to work with the lady of the house. Your every working day will depend on what she needs. You must speak good English as she would like to improve her English language speaking and so you will also be spending your time as her companion just talking to her and going out and about with her in London. However, when the lady of the house is busy you should be prepared to help with all general cleaning and housekeeping wherever it is needed. You will also need to know how to set a lovely table for meals and also be prepared to help the Private Chefs by serving. They would really like someone who could become the House Manager after a period of settling in and getting to know everyone.
The ideal candidate will speak excellent English, be very well presented and have a great personality. You will need to be someone who has worked in a top level private household or on a yacht as a housekeeper for at least 3 years and who knows how to run and present a house to a high standard. It would be helpful if you could drive but it is not essential.
You will be working a five day week, 10am to 7pm or 9am to 6pm. When the Gentleman is in London you will work Monday to Friday, when he is away you should be prepared to do some work over the weekend - but you will then get days off during the week and you will always work a 5 day week. Salary will depend on experience and will be in the region of £500 to £650 net pw.
