We are recruiting a highly experienced, traditional housekeeper/cook for a HNW lady based in her Belgravia property. This is a live-in, full time position. We are looking for someone with extensive experience in similar homes with solid references. The Principle spends 4 months of the summer in her home in the Hamptons, so there is the potential to travel with her should you wish. Otherwise you will remain in the London residence keeping the property clean and secure at all times.
You must be hardworking, reliable and a good cook able to competently create 3 course well-presented meals for up to 8 people. You must also love dogs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Organise a morning breakfast tray for the Principle
• Daily housekeeping of the whole house including 2 x bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen
• Polishing brass and silver, antiques and fine furniture
• Ironing as and when required
• Cleaning windows inside
• Collecting, washing, ironing and returning laundry to the appropriate place
• Hand washing delicate items
• Wardrobe management
• Arranging dry-cleaning
• Answering door and telephone
• Watering household plants and flower arranging
• Carrying out weekly grocery shopping
• Dealing with tradesmen, suppliers and contractors
• Carrying out any other tasks that the employer may reasonably ask
• Helping take care of the Principle’s small dog
• Prepare a light lunch as and when required
• Prepare a daily simple evening meal for the Principle
• Cater for dinner parties when required
Flexibility is key in this position, as is a strong work ethic. Upmost professionalism is required at all times.
If you are interested in spending time this summer in the Hamptons then that may be a possibility. Otherwise the role will look to start upon the Principle’s return to London.
Salary of £400 - £500 per week depending on experience. Accommodation and food is also provided.
