Hi - We are a happy and loving 3-person family with a wonderfully happy, curious and energetic 4 year old girl who started school in September. Mother works full time including travel abroad to Europe several times a month, father works from home. We live in the family-orientated neighbourhood of Kensal Rise, bordering Queens Park and enjoy getting out of London as and when we can. Sadly our lovely nanny is off to au pair in America, so we are looking for someone new to take care of our daughter.
HOURS:
TERM TIME:
Monday - Friday: 7:15am - 6:45pm
(7:15am - 8:15am : On duty
8:15am - 3:30pm : Manage your own time
3:30pm - 6:45pm : On duty)
During term time you will manage your own time on Monday – Friday 8:15am – 3:30pm to ensure all agreed duties have been completed; with the exception of the first half of the autumn term (Sept – Oct 2022) during which school will finish at 12pm on Wednesdays and you will need to be available and on duty.
HALF-TERM / SCHOOL HOLIDAYS:
8am – 7pm Monday to Friday
There will be the flexibility to finish early when possible but also stay late should that be required.
There is to be two nights babysitting per week included in the salary, with one of those being on the weekend. We will give at least 48 hours notice for babysitting.
Duties include:
· Work in partnership with parents to establish a routine and carry out daily care and activities which include: organising and taking part in local activities and groups / holiday clubs, organising play dates, day trips, school drop off and pick ups.
· Support and encourage the child’s development stages.
· Promotion of the child’s physical fitness and development to ensure exercise, outdoor play, gross motor skills.
· Providing structured art and craft sessions.
· The stimulation of the child in play to ensure good development including reading, singing, writing and drawing.
· Overall well being of the child in a safe environment indoor and outdoor, including booking and assisting taking child to any medical/health appointments as necessary.
· Cooking healthy meals, broadening the menu to include new tastes, supporting the weekly shop and weekly menu planning.
· Supporting the development of good manners and politeness.
· Work with the parents to maintain good health of the child, managing medications, medical appointments and general health and well being.
· Light housework, including keeping the main living spaces tidy, packing and unpacking the dishwasher, hanging up and folding laundry, working with parents to plan weekly meals, online grocery order, unpacking groceries etc.
· Keeping child’s play area clean and tidy, keeping child’s bathroom clean and tidy, doing all child’s laundry and ironing, sewing on labels to clothing, packing and unpacking child’s suitcases from family holidays, etc.
· Limit screen time during the week with no TV and/or iPad unless the child is ill or by prior agreement with parent(s). You will limit your use of your phone in front of the child in order to set a good example.
NUTRITION:
Good nutrition and a healthy and varied diet are very important to our family, and you will be required to cook fresh healthy meals. approximately 3x per week these will be family-sized meals.
ABOUT YOU:
- You will have a natural love of children and find the world of small children wonderfully exciting and fun.
- You will be naturally neat and tidy.
- You will be proficient in English and able to help with reading, writing, homework, etc.
- Driver’s license is not required.
- You will be a good cook with a clear understanding of food hygiene.
- You will be a non-smoker.
- You will have experience looking after similar aged children.
- You will be DBS checked with an up to date first aid certificate.
ACCOMMODATION:
If live-in, you will be in our top floor Loft – large double room with double bed; own en-suite and large cupboard area; wifi throughout the house and NETFLIX access. You will not be expected to contribute to any household bills. Food will be included within the weekly shop.
SALARY:
LIVE IN:
£240 p/week net during term time
£290 p/w net during non-term time
LIVE OUT:
£330 p/w during term time
£380 p/w during non term time
4 weeks holiday per year, excl bank holidays (total 28 days incl bank holidays), and any work-related travel reimbursed.
