We are a friendly family of four, with a girl (2.5 years) and boy (2 months) looking for a live-in nanny / mothers help from end of August / start of September. The role will be shared care until Summer 2022 whilst mum is on maternity leave, with the option to then transition into a sole charge role when mum returns to work. Our daughter will attend nursery 5 mornings per week from January. She is a lovely, very happy and easy-going little girl who sleeps well, and loves going to the park, playing outdoors, and imaginative play.
Hours are 7.15am to 7.15 pm Monday to Friday and up to 2 babysits per week (although in reality we would rarely require this much babysitting). We request one (shorter) weekend day per month, which would be swapped for a week day to ensure you have enough down time.
We can also be flexible on hours if you would like additional time off at specific times in the week.
Duties would include:
- Caring for one of the two children (and potentially both for limited periods), playing and having fun, helping with their development, taking them to classes, the park, play dates etc. Generally helping out so that mum can spend quality time with each of the children individually.
- Nursery duties such as weekly bed changes, children’s washing, preparing meals and tidying up at the end of each day
- Cooking healthy meals. Our daughter has some specific dietary requirements, and we batch cook food for her once a week. The role would ideally suit someone who is a competent cook and enjoys cooking, willing to do the weekly batch cook and occasionally prepare something for mum and dad too.
- Light house keeping duties. We have a weekly cleaner, but we are looking for someone who is willing to Muck in and empty the dishwasher, help with the family washing, unpack grocery deliveries etc.
- Run errands such as light grocery shopping, going to the post office / dry cleaners / pharmacy etc.
We are looking for:
- A native or fully fluent English speaker (essential)
- Someone who is caring, patient and enjoys playing with children and supporting their development. Previous baby experience would be ideal.
- Easy-going and flexible, reliable, takes initiative and willing to help out and be part of our home and family
- Ideally someone who enjoys cooking
- Non-smoker with up to date paediatric first aid, DBS and good references are essentials
We are located in central Wimbledon, with shops, restaurants, train and tube within 10 minutes walk. Waterloo is a 15 minute train journey from Wimbledon. The lovely Wimbledon village and Wimbledon Common are just up the hill. You would have your own bedroom and bathroom on the top floor of the house with TV, built in wardrobe, and a view over our garden.
Competitive pay, dependent on experience and desired hours. Ideally we would like to interview as soon as possible and find our new nanny by the end of July, to start at the end of August / early September.
