Live-In Housekeeper
Burlington School – London SW6
Burlington School seeks a hard-working and organised Live-In Housekeeper to oversee a small residence for international students, and the cleaning of a busy London-based language school.
Burlington School was established in 1990, and we currently provide courses and accommodation for up to 250 students at a time in our school in Fulham, South West London.
We have a small residence in the school, housing 12-14 adult students in shared rooms, as well as a cafeteria catering for these students; the cafeteria is also open for all students for breakfast, lunch and snacks.
Responsible to the Deputy Principal and Marketing Director, the Housekeeper is responsible for the cleaning and supervision of this residence, as well as for checking students in and out on arrival and departure. The Housekeeper is also responsible for the cleaning of the school, and will be expected to assist the kitchen staff as needed. The successful candidate will be able to work on his or her own initiative but also as part of a team, and will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. Working hours would be flexible, and will involve weekend and out-of-office hours work.
Salary is £1000 per month plus free accommodation plus 2 meals per day.
Principle Responsibilities:
• To oversee the running of the school residence

• To clean the school
• To assist in the school cafeteria as required, including providing breakfast for students living in the residence at weekends
• To assist the Deputy Principal and Marketing Director with any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job
Candidate Specification:
Required
• Outstanding customer focus
• Excellent organisational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
Desirable
• experience in a similar role
• experience of working with people of a variety of nationalities and cultures
• Written and spoken proficiency in language(s) other than English
• Current clear Enhanced DBS disclosure (please note: this will be required before commencement of employment)
• Current Health and Safety certification*
• Current Food Hygiene certification*
• Current Safeguarding certification*
*Training in these will be organised by Burlington School prior to commencement of employment if necessary.
