We are looking for a female live in carer for our mother who is 78 years of age and lives in her own home in Edmonton, North London N9, with an immediate start.
Our mother had a stroke 6 years ago and needs assistance with personal hygiene, meals made, medication, toilet and any other needs as the stroke has left her with a disability on her left side and she is unable to get up unaided.
She is a Greek Cypriot lady so an understanding of Greek would be helpful but not essential.  Previous experience in a similar job also helpful.
The job requires someone to live in (alone) and share the job with another live in carer who is already in place.  You would work alternate days and nights with the other carer i.e. 24 hrs one day and off the next 24 hrs and this would be from Monday-Sunday.  Although from 10.00pm in the evening care is very minimal as she is asleep but may require to go to the toilet in the night.
Duties include any assistance in using the bathroom, showering, cooking, cleaning, administering medication, taking her out to the shops in her wheelchair and general care.
Our mother is able to communicate, however her disability means she requires assistance with getting out of bed and using equipment to get up and go to the toilet.
The job would include free live in accommodation - your own bedroom, utility bills included (excluding use of telephone) as part of the package. Along with free accommodation, there is also a salary of £1250.00 per calendar month.
We are looking for the right person to give the best care for our mother. Care experience preferred, but not essential. Greek speaking also a benefit, but no needed, however, patience and physical ability is a must.
References will be required.
