Seeking an experienced live-in carer, to work for a couple in a 4-bedroom house near Parkway (Camden). The carer will have her own bedroom and bathroom.
We are a professional couple. My wife (86) has dementia and Parkinson's and needs assistance with all essential movements, such as dressing, undressing, bathing, walking, hygiene, etc. But she is  alert and mentally independent. The carer will need to have a National Insurance Number and good English. She will be on a yearly contract, work six days weekly, 10 hours per day (split up), for a daily wage of 80 pounds (480 pounds per week) plus full room and board. Her tasks will include routine house work, shopping, cleaning, light cooking, and keeping track of household medication. But her chief office will be to care for my wife, a former novelist. The position is one which calls primarily for being courteous, reliable, and knowing how to talk to an intelligent woman. Questions concerning holidays, visitors and other matters will be negotiated.
