Are you full of energy and enthusiasm? Looking for a friendly and active household? We are a busy family living in Hampstead Garden Suburb, NW11 (near Golders Green and East Finchley stations) looking for a live-in au pair plus to start at the end of April to join our lively household. We have two very loving and energetic sets of twin boys: the older ones are seven years old and the younger ones are three years old. We both work full-time in demanding jobs, and we are looking for someone to help us look after our children and our home. We currently have an (English) au pair who is studying in university during the day, but helps out in the mornings and afternoons before and after school.
Childcare duties: The older boys are at school during term-time from 08.45-16.00 and the younger boys are at nursery during term-time from 09.00-12.00. The school is a short walk from our house and nursery a short bus journey or walk, and you will be taking them all in the mornings. The younger ones finish nursery and come home for lunch. They will join you to collect the older boys from school in the afternoons. From September, the younger boys will be in the same school as their older brothers and will have school in the afternoons too. We will need you to help get the children ready for school in the mornings, including breakfast and getting dressed. After school, you will help supervise homework and give the boys dinner. Our au pair will be home most days around dinner time and will help you with bath and bedtime, and the boys’ grandparents live nearby and often come over to help in the evenings too. Outside of term-time (during school holidays), we try to make plans for the boys but we may need you to help more with the boys during the day. The job will include weeknight babysitting.
Homecare duties: Your job will involve cleaning the house weekly, including bathrooms; ironing; helping with laundry for the children; helping prepare and clear up meals for the children and clearing up the kitchen and play area daily. We are generally a very clean and tidy family so the cleaning is not very heavy-duty.
Accommodation: You will have your own room with TV and WiFi. You will share a spacious modern bathroom and top floor of the house with our lovely English au pair.
Requirements: A good level of spoken English; at least one year’s experience working in the UK; valid working visa; CRB check; experience of looking after more than one young child at a time; paediatric first aid training; non-smoker. You do not need to be able to drive for this job.
This job would suit you very well if you are currently an au pair who enjoys looking after children and are hoping to gain more experience and earn a higher salary.
If you are interested, please send your CV along with references and a covering letter.
