Live in Au Pair in London Zone Job

Posted: 06-08-2024
Place: Clapham Common, Greater London

Live in Au Pair / Nanny– 30 hours a week
We are a small family of four (mum Argentinean, dad English, and Emma 2.5 years old, and Sara 10 months old). Mum is going back to work from maternity leave, and will need help from someone who can help with Emma 2 days a week (Tuesdays and Fridays), and various tasks around the house during mornings, evenings, a night a week of babysitting, and every now and then little bit of help during the weekend for an hour or two.
We estimate work can add up to 30 hours a week, and are somehow flexible regarding days/times so we can try to accommodate to another job, or studding time. While the priority is to get help looking after our little ones, we are looking for someone that can give us a hand in pretty much anything around the house, such as basic cleaning, washing up and organising the girls’ clothes, changing nappies, doing a little bit of cooking for the girls, etc.
We have had 2 au pairs in the past for 6 months and a year respectively, and can provide references up front, should you be considering coming to our home and can almost warranty that you'll be happy and comfortable living with us.
We consider ourselves a very easygoing family. Emma is a healthy, happy, and well-behaved little girl with Down's Syndrome, so ideally we are looking for someone who is interested in looking after a baby with special needs. Sara is a typically developed little girl who adores Emma and is also a happy and healthy little child.
Initially we are looking for someone to start in June 2022. We’d like to have someone living in. We have a lovely big 5 bedroom house with a garden in London’s zone 2, where you will have your own room on the ground floor (the rest of the family lives upstairs) with a smart TV, a NETFLIX license, full use of the internet, your own en-suite bathroom, and a kitchenette, all just newly refurbished. Besides this, we offer plenty of storage to accommodate your belongings, have your own privacy, and feel comfortable.
We are a professional and hard working couple, and consider ourselves a very easy-going family, with loads of positive experience having an au pair already.
Ideally, we would like this person to be highly energetic, proactive, of positive attitude, and fun-loving.
Requirements:
-           Fluency in English
-           Must have at least one year of paid work experience and some experience in childcare.
-           Non-smoker
-           References from previous families or character references.
-           Must be able to produce a DBS check.
-           First Aid Certified
Nice to haves:
-           Native in Spanish language
-           Possess drivers’ License
-          Already living in London
Pay will be in line with the UK government standard regulations for an au pair role (£80 per week for 30 hours), but we are also willing to negotiate for individuals who have vast childcare / special needs experience or are more qualified.
