We are looking for a kind, caring and responsible female au pair to help us look after our daughter (a girl of 10) designated afternoons and evenings. You would be needed for 25 hours a week plus up to 2 nights babysitting a week (one weeknight and one weekend night). We also have a 17 year old who does not require supervision but is busy studying and would like some conversation/company in the house when we are out.
We need someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and is keen to be creative (with art and music) about ways in which to entertain our 10 yr old daughter. We live in a great area, which has several beautiful parks, is 5 minutes walk away from shops and cafes. You need to be dog friendly as we have a small dog who needs daily walking. The bus stop is at the bottom of the street. It is 40 minutes by bus to the centre of London and only 10 Mins to Brixton where the tube take you to Oxford Circus in 20 Mins. You would not need to drive as the school is within close walking distance from our house.
We are looking for someone who is:
-Independent and sociable.
- Speaks good English
- Tidy and enjoys keeping things clean and well ordered.
- Responsible.
- Likes cooking healthy food and cleaning kitchen.
- Able to make decisions and take initiative.
- Flexible in outlook.
Some experience with children is desirable. We would also like you to be able to commit for least 6 months maybe 10 months. Some flexibility will be required during weekends and school holidays. Some long weekends required (extra hours negotiated.)
Some experience with caring for children is desirable. We would also like you to be able to commit for 7 - 10 months, start September to mid July with some holiday periods to be negotiated. Some flexibility will be required during weekends and school holidays.
The usual schedule would be:
Mon, Tue, Wed and Thursday Mornings 8-9:30 am - helping with breakfast, kitchen tidy and getting ready and taking to school.
Short morning dog walk to school and or park.
Mon, Tue, Wed, Thursday Evenings: 3.30-8:30 pm - collecting from school helping with some homework/reading, giving snacks, cooking a healthy dinner, supervising bath time and bedtime. Plus two nights babysitting, one week night and one weekend.
Some long weekend work required. We would also need you to do some laundry, a small amount of ironing, and keep children’s clothes put away and tidy.
This job could suit a student, if you want to live rent free, and can fit it in with your hours, or it could be a typical au pair role.
