Live in au Pair Required

Posted: 11-09-2021
Place: Clapham, London

We are a friendly family of five looking for an au pair to join our family and help look after our three children (boy 6 years , two girls 8 years and 9 years ). The children get on really well and enjoy playing, cycling, ice skating, rollerskating, art and baking.
We are looking for someone who is kind, creative, has a can do attitude and be prepared to help around the house as well as look after the children.
The role will be up to 30 hours per week, plus 2 nights babysitting one of which may be at the weekend (weekend evenings will be planned well in advance, and it is unlikely that it would be every week). The hours may vary (dependent on my work requirements) but will typically be 7.30-9am and 3.45 – 8.00pm. Full days may be required during the school holidays. You would have sole charge of the children for at two days a week. Typically, these two days will be Wednesday and Thursday. The rest of the week we would share school runs and evening activities. My work is quite flexible so if there is a course or activity you would like to do in your spare time, or would like to take a few Fridays/ Mondays to have long weekends away to explore Europe or visit home that could work well.
We live in Clapham South. It is a great area for parks, cafes, shops and 15/20 Mins from central London by tube. You would have a standard sized bedroom with a shared bathroom.
Weekly pay of £130, with additional hours/ pay available if you would like extra work and/ or there will be plenty of babysitting opportunities during the week for other local families.
Your duties would include:
• Helping with breakfast
• Taking the children to school in the morning - they go to two different schools, 10/15 Mins walk or cycle away.
• Picking up from school
• Overseeing homework and music practice
• Supervising playdates and occasionally taking to after school activities
• Taking delivery of groceries
• Shopping for extra food / items (not the main family shop)
• Cooking for the children and on occasion preparing a family meal
• Putting the children to bed on occasion we are working late/ out for the evening
• Light house work (we have a cleaner once a week) including:
• Keeping the children’ rooms tidy
• Children’ laundry -washing/ putting it away
• Keeping the communal areas tidy
• Generally keeping the house running and the children in their routine.
We would also expect our au pair to meet the following:
• Previous childcare experience
• A good standard of spoken English
• DBS checked
• Up-to-date First Aid (or willingness to do so before starting)
• At least 2 good quality references.
• Driving a plus but not essential.
• Have good basic cooking skills
• Are happy to be flexible, although hours can be planned up to three weeks in advance.
• A non-smoker
We would prefer it if you were already in the UK and available to meet in person.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Jo.
