Dear Au Pair.
We are a friendly family with 2 boys (8 and 10). We are looking for a responsible, kind and fun au pair to provide child care, sports fun and help with homework to our two boys.
The position is to start as soon as possible
We live in Dollis Hill, North West London. 10 minute walk from the tube, from there you are only 20 minutes on the tube to the centre of London.
Dad works 5 days a week, and I'll be working 4 days a week. Both boys are in school 5 days a week, apart from school holidays.
We live next to a lovely park with tennis courts and a cafe. The boys walk/scooter to school every day.
The position is live-in and the general duties will be up at 7.00am to prepare breakfast, get school bags ready, walk the boys to school (through a park). Come home and tidy up kitchen, and the kids' bedrooms, sort out the boys laundry if there is any to be done.
Depending on how you manage your time, you are generally free until school pick up at 3.15pm. After school activities include preparing a snack for the boys, helping with homework and doing activities with the boys. Then help with dinner, tidying up and bedtime routines.
There will be occasional babysitting required. At most once a week.
You’ll have a lot of time to yourself during term time days, but on the school holidays you may be required to work longer hours.
Sporty / Fun
We are looking for a confident person who genuinely likes to be around older kids and is happy to get Stuck in and play with the boys. They are 8 and 10 years old so are quite independent and we need someone who can take control, have confidence and good persuasion skills to get them to do stuff even if they say they just want to watch TV! You need to be strong enough to be the person in charge - a cool big brother or sister is what would work well. They love going to the park (we live right by the park) for bike rides, basket ball, or just to kick a ball around.
You should speak excellent English (needed to be able to read to the children and help with homework), and be legally entitled to work in the UK and have recent checkable references. experience of looking after children of around this age preferred. Driving licence preferred. No smokers, please.
In return for the above, you will be welcomed into a loving family, be respected for the work and care you give, and will be paid £100 a week pocket money (all other food and bills are paid for).
