Busy but relaxed family looking for a Live in Housekeeper / Nanny to help with daughter nearly 2 and son 5 months. Fixed part time hours to be agreed upon, would suit a student or someone who has other commitments. Mum is at home but often out, it will be a case of divide and conquer. You will have the children sole charge for part of the week and will be able to carry out your other duties when it suits you.
About the family: Mum is Australian, living in the UK for 10 years, Dad is British and has a demanding job in the city which entails some international travel. Daughter is very articulate and likes to be kept busy, she enjoys trips to the common, playing in the backyard and drawing. She is a good eater and sleeps well. Son likes to watch his older sister playing and is generally pretty relaxed as long as he is kept in his routine. Both of them love music, singing and dancing. We also have a French Bulldog who you will need to be happy walking and a lovely Burmese cat. Dad has two older children Girl 14 and Boy 11 who live close by and come for dinner each Wednesday and also come to stay every other weekend.
Your room is in the newly converted Loft with lots of natural light, double bed, wardrobe, Virgin TV and your own ensuite shower room.
Nannying duties will include, taking daughter to and from nursery 5 mornings a week 09:00-12:30, take children to classes (Monkey Music, Ballet, Swimming etc.) and playdates, baby sitting two nights per week and the option to help on weekends for additional pay. We are looking for someone who is organised and proactive in keeping the children engaged and who would be happy to arrange age appropriate activities such as arts and crafts, baking, new games / Toys.
Housekeeping duties include, meal planning, grocery shopping and cooking for the whole family, although we are happy to have ready meals / easy dinners or take away on busy days. Daily tidy up, mop and quick vacuum, dishwasher, preparing laundry to be sent out and putting laundry away once it’s returned, filing and keeping things organised in general.
Previous experience working with children is essential. Drivers licence desirable but not essential, car would be provided. Second language desirable, especially French as the daughter has previously been at an immersive French speaking day care 4 days a week. Any other language would also be a plus.
