We are looking for an au pair, Junior Nanny or Nanny to be part of our family living in Battersea, London to help look after our 2 gorgeous children - a 2 year old girl called Edith and an 8 month old boy called Wilfred.
We live in an area of London called Battersea. It is very central and close to Chelsea/Clapham Junction. We live near to Battersea park which is a wonderful park with a lot of green open spaces.
You will have your own bedroom and a shared bathroom with the children. Wifi/internet access. We would like you to work an average of 40 hours per week and in addition to this provide two nights babysitting per week.
Edith will go to Nursery 3 mornings a week from January, going on to 5 mornings a week and we will need help taking/picking her up and looking after Wilfred.
A draft schedule is below detailing the envisaged split of the hours during the week. Your hours will likely vary a bit each week, especially during the first few weeks once we work out the best routine for us all.
The two nights babysitting will be agreed on a weekly basis (although we will likely know dates in advance of that) and one night may include a Friday or Saturday. It is rare that we would go out both a Friday and Saturday night in one week but this may happen occasionally. It may not be two nights every week in which case we may ask you to help for a few hours during the day on a Saturday or Sunday, or 3 nights babysitting the following week, although I hasten to add this very rarely happens!
Duties and responsibilities
Your main responsibilities is to help us with looking after both the children and your duties will include the following:
• Helping get the children up, give them breakfast and clear up
• Playing with / entertaining the children at home and out
• Dropping Edith at nursery and collecting her
• Taking them out to activities and playgroups etc.
• Preparing meals/milk for the children
• Bathing the children and putting them to bed
Other duties will include but not be limited to:
• Helping to keep the house clean and tidy on a daily basis - particularly the kitchen, sitting room and the children’s bedrooms. This will involve loading / emptying the dishwasher, washing up, cleaning the kitchen surfaces, tidying away Toys, occasional ironing, changing the children’s beds, folding dry laundry
• Please note we do have a cleaner for 5 hours each week on a Monday morning and will continue to do so, so all we are asking is for you to keep on top of the mess.
• Running errands such as going to the supermarket, dry cleaners, Post Office etc.
We are a fun loving family who loves travel. We have a farm in Ireland which we visit on quite a regular basis and you have the opportunity to come with us on occasion as well as holidays abroad to help with the children. We would very much like someone to be part of our life and most importantly have a positive, fun loving influence on our two children.
