Vacancy has arisen for a Full-Time Light Good Vehicle Technician Level 3 to join our ambitious and results driven team at TOM Vehicle Rental Barking, reporting to the Workshop Controller.
This role has excellent scope for professional development and the successful candidate will have a high level of autonomy and opportunity to progress, while still receiving support and development as well as interaction with some of the worlds largest automotive manufacturers.
Some of the key responsibilities include;
Carry out all types of service and repairs on the TOM Fleet of Vehicles.
Carry out diagnostic testing where required, with a good ability for fault find is required
Documenting the performed work and returning to the workshop controller/ supervisor
Conducting routine inspections, condition reports indicating if uneconomic to repair and pre-MOT inspections as necessary.
To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems.
Identifying repairs required through unfair wear and tear and advise the Service Manager/Foreperson Mechanic.
To assist/attend vehicle breakdowns and conduct roadside repairs as necessary (within normal working hours).
To co-ordinate the scheduling of repairs and ordering / receiving of parts etc.
It is essential that the successful candidate has;
Certification in City and Guilds, NVQ 3 or equivalent
Have a good understanding of VOSA standards
Self-driven, motivated and highly career ambitious with a desire to succeed
Able to meet targets and strict deadlines
Time management skills and able to multitask
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety standards
Be able to work individually and as a team
Have a commitment to delivering a high standard of work
Have relevant qualifications for Technician or equivalent role
