Peabody has an exciting opportunity for a Lift Engineer to join our team in London. The successful applicant will join us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a salary of £35,000 - £42,000 per annum.
Peabody and Family Mosaic have merged, creating a new housing association providing 55,000 homes to 111,000 people across London and the South East. Our combined scale and strong focus on London will uniquely position us to revolutionise housing delivery and redefine best practice – and you will be central to making it happen.
As our Lift Engineer you will assist the Lift Manager for the contract supervision, administration and financial control for works relating to lifts, and undertake the technical day-to-day monitoring of all design and planning for all lift servicing, repairs and new installations.
Responsibilities of the Lift Engineer:
- Deputise for the Lift Manager in their absence when required.
- Assist the Lift Manager in managing any budget responsibility delegated to them. Support the Lift Manager in the preparation of future budgets.
- Apply professional knowledge in the procurement of electrical / lift services ensuring they represent best value for money.
- Ensure compliance with Peabody’s standing orders and with any appropriate published departmental standards and procedures.
- Control all time and costs spent on projects to ensure that these are contained within generally prescribed or separately agreed targets.
- Prepare any specifications, schedules of work and other contract documentation necessary following accurate diagnosis, to ensure the technically correct and timely progress and completion of commissions.
Skills/experience required by the Lift Engineer:
- Extensive experience within the lift/electrical industry.
- Intermediate IT skill including knowledge of the Microsoft Office package.
- Previously held a supervisory position within the social housing environment.
- Ability to devise, communicate, and gain acceptance for and implement new ideas and technical solutions to building services problems and to convey information to others by way of written reports and technical specifications.
- Demonstrate experience and skills managing customer relationships to ensure a high level of customer care and satisfaction.
- NVQ 3 / 4 Lift Engineering or BTEC National Lift Engineering.
- Full UK drivers licence and use of vehicle.
