Level 3 Nursery Nurses (Ofsted Outstanding setting)

Salary Circa £17-19k
Experienced practitioners are needed to join a friendly team in this stunning Ofsted Outstanding nursery in Clapham. You will provide a high standard of care and education for all children and to ensure children are safeguarded from harm. You will be required to provide service delivery within the requirements of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, Development Matters and Every Child Matters.
Main Duties
o To manage the day to day running of the room and ensure staff are deployed appropriately
o To make sure all children have full access to the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, making sure all planning is completed and implemented
o To help create and foster development, safety and welfare of the children including the positive management of children’s behaviour
o To employ techniques to help staff work as a team and support them in their roles
o To lead the team and offer support when planning, preparing and delivering activities to meet the individual needs of all children under Chestnut Nursery School care including those with Special Educational Needs.
o To work as part of a team to provide activities and resources within the nursery which reflects the multi-cultural nature of the local community
o To provide a welcoming, happy, safe and friendly environment for all.
o To understand the religious, ethnic and cultural differences and to incorporate these into activities and the daily routine of the Nursery
o To help prepare and serve snacks and main meals for children in the nursery, knowing individual dietary requirements and following the nurseries food policy
o To lead in providing a safe and secure environment for the children in the Nursery.
o To attend and contribute to Nursery staff meetings as required.
o To be a good role model for childcare practitioners and students
o To help new staff fit into the nursery environment
o To encourage parents and carers to be involved in the setting and their children’s learning
o To attend at least 3 parents/carers meetings a year (these may occur outside standard working hours)
o To attend at least one Saturday open day per year.
o To take responsibility for the care and use of resources
o To be a key person for a group of children ensuring their time at nursery is fun, educational and they are well cared for
o To ensure all necessary steps are taken to keep children safe and well
o To report any concerns to the nominated safeguarding officer
o To ensure the observe, record, report procedure is followed
o To keep abreast of any changes to the safeguarding policy and procedures
o To ensure that your team are updated on any changes to the safeguarding policy and procedures.
