Working as part of this established team, you will cover all aspects of Lettings Accountancy and be responsible for a full portfolio and be exposed to some of the most desirable and technically challenging properties in London.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar role and will have experience and understanding of accounting procedures, it is essential to have used and be comfortable using at least one accounting system and any property experience will be advantageous. JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Lettings Accountant (full time)
Key Objectives:
Responsibility for Client Accounting for the Lettings Department
Maintenance and development of the Aspasia system
Key accounting controls in accordance with Arla regulations
Reporting:
• Reports directly to Lettings Director and Group Head of Accounts
General duties
• Aspasia system supervisor
• Daily maintenance and administration
• Ensuring the integrity of files, security, back-ups etc
• Maintenance of CFP/Aspasia Ledgers for both Clients and Tenants
• Setting up new accounts
• Collection of Tenant Deposits and initial monies
• Invoicing of Fees
• Payment of Rents to Clients
• Maintenance of Purchase Ledger for management Clients
• Credit Control of late rents
• Reporting on frequent late payers with methods on how to resolve them
• Quarterly and Annual HMRC Returns for Overseas Clients
• Monthly reconciliations of Client and Office Bank Accounts
• Monthly reconciliation of Client Accounts
• Arla audit preparation
• Dealing with Auditors queries
• FPM holiday and sickness cover
• Assisting Senior Property Manager with administration and maintenance repairs
• Financial reporting – development of management tools for both internal and external purposes
Other Key Skills, Knowledge and/or Competency
• Sufficient technical accounting skills to perform complex reconciliations
• A professional approach is essential
• Good communication and administration skills
• Positive promotion of the department at all times
• Team Player
• Accurate data inputting skills are essential
• Rigorous self checking of work
• Ability to follow instructions consistently
• Ability to effectively use Word, Excel, CFP and Aspasia
• Ability to learn new systems effectively
• Proactive with good time-management abilities
• Excellent standard of English and numeracy
Formal Education and experience:
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel and Word
Some knowledge of Property Management or Estate Agency would be helpful
