La Barrique is a restaurant and bar specialising in pizza, pasta, salads and sharing boards with a diverse selection of wines and Beers to match from wine regions from around the world.
Our location at ExCel means we look after a diverse clientele attending events at the Exhibition and Event centre as well as our locals from around the Royal Docks. We combine elegant design with great tasting food and exciting wines and Beers. Our front of house team deliver exquisite service and make sure that our guests love eating, drinking, relaxing and being in our restaurant. In short we aspire to be the best in the area and are looking for a talented individual to help make that happen.
The Role
We have a small team and you would be working closely with our General Manager Aurelija and Assistant Inesa to ensure the smooth running of the venue and look after our guests at the venue. As ExCel is an international venue we have a varied high quality clientele and as such hire individuals who are confident communicating with professional business people and have a naturally friendly personality.
Some of the duties are are as follows:
Ensure we operate a safe and spotlessly clean venue
Help manage rotas and staff assignments on a daily and weekly basis
Serve customers and deal with reservations and event bookings.
Handle customer compliments and complaints.
Stock checking, control and ordering.
Accepting deliveries of products and consumables.
Liaise with 3rd parties.
Report to General Manager and ownership on status of business.
Be responsible of the venue n the absence of the General Manager.
Open and close venue.
Reconcile daily takings.
Be a recognisable face of the business.

experience
Please only apply if you have significant experience working in a UK chain or independent restaurant and speak excellent English. This role would suit an existing water/waitress looking for a new challenge in a smaller company where you can truly make a difference.
Pay Rates
The role pays £7.50 per hour at starting and also earns gratuities.
