Job Description:
We are looking for a Kitchen Porter to fill a vacancy in an expanding London health food café. As a Kitchen Porter, you are taking the first step to becoming a great chef! On a daily basis your responsibilities will grow under the guidance of a more senior chef. You will gain experience maintaining hygiene standards and preparing and plating dishes. Clear communication and willingness to learn are crucial attributes for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensuring food is prepared as directed
• Consistent production in a timely manner for lunch service at 11:30AM
• Put away food deliveries in a first in, first out rotation
• Perform stock take, manage stock usage, and communicate station ordering needs to more Senior Chefs
• Washing up dishes, sweeping, mopping floors
• Follow kitchen policies and maintain cleanliness
• Label food with expiration dates
• Flexibility and willingness to help with other roles
• Report any issues to Head Chef
Other Skills Required:
• Strong knowledge of food and hygiene
• Good communication skills
• Accuracy and speed in food preparation
• Arrive on time and ready for your shift
