Kitchen Porter/Dishwasher - Peggy Porschen Parlour
We are looking for a full-time kitchen assistant to join our friendly, busy team of bakers, pastry chefs and cake decorators. An excellent kitchen assistant is the backbone of every professional kitchen. You must be motivated, hard-working, well-organised and forward thinking. You pride yourself in a very high standard of hygiene and cleanliness and have a natural interest in food preparation.
Start date: as soon as possible
Hours: 40 hours per week, flexible shifts
Salary: £8.00
Task and Responsibility:
Assisting with the smooth running of the kitchen production areas.
Washing dishes manually and operating the dishwasher.
Assisting with basic food preparation.
Cleaning any kitchen utensils.
Maintain the kitchen work areas in accordance with HACCP regulations.
Storing away all crockery, cutlery and glassware.
Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor.
Emptying bins when they are full.
Making sure that all kitchen equipment like food mixers, fridges, cookers are in good working order.
Reporting any fault equipment to the kitchen manager or chef and then arranging for their repair.
Keeping the store rooms well stocked and organised at all times.
Monitoring and maintaining the washroom facilities throughout the day.
Organising the laundry collection and deliveries
Keeping other staff areas, such as the changing rooms and storages tidy.
Keeping breakages down to a minimum.
Complying with company's cleaning rotas.
Assisting in other areas of the parlour and Academy premises when required
Using the correct amount of specialist chemicals when cleaning work surfaces and equipment.
Ensuring that at the end of the shift the kitchen is ready for the morning staff.
Other requirements:
The UK work visa
Good English language skills.
