We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic person to join our kitchen porter team. You will be required to do general cleaning of the kitchen, washing of pots, large pieces of kitchen equipment and during service the loading and unloading of plates, glasses and cutlery from the dishwasher. Location areas include dining room, counter servery, kitchen and receiving yard.
In holiday periods, you will continue to perform daily duties for the school support staff feeding in addition to deep cleaning duties in all areas of the catering operation and school include: cleaning key pieces of equipment in the kitchen in a deep cleaning program, attending to the dining areas and helping with deliveries around the school.
At all times the kitchen porter will work in an efficient manner, project a helpful and willing attitude to customers and colleagues. And above all be able to work as part of a team. Training will be given on items of dangerous machinery that will be used and also COSHH, Hygiene and Health and safety and monthly training.
Regular hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week 11am – 7pm, 52 weeks a year, along with staff INSET days and Benefactors and Apposition Lunches. During the holiday periods, work times will be rescheduled to 8am – 4pm. The rate of pay will be £16,100 per annum. Uniform and a meal will be provided whilst on duty. 20 days holiday will be paid but must be taken during the school holidays. Overtime will be required during term time and will be paid at time and half. Location is 20 Mins walk or 5 minute bus ride from Hammersmith tube station.
