Kaffeine is an Australian owned café with 2 locations in Fitzrovia, central London that is recruiting for a kitchen assistant for work at our original store on Great Titchfield Street, with occasional shifts at our store on Eastcastle Street. With the original store open for nine years and the new store open for just over 3 years, we are regarded as being one of the best cafes in the UK and our intention is for this to long continue. We are recruiting for a kitchen assistant who wants to work in a clean, professional, organised and reputable kitchen and who wishes to progress their skills and knowledge further. Someone who likes early starts (6 am or 7 am) and early finishes (2 pm) and is okay to work most but not all weekends. Perhaps you dream about cooking, you cook at home or already have a job in the industry, you love baking and you love the creativity of seasonal, interesting menus. Even if you do have all this, you will also love looking after people and seeing the happiness on their face when they eat your food. You will be doing lots of baking, lots preparing ingredients for sandwiches and salads, making everything from scratch and helping to keep the kitchen clean and tidy. It is a large kitchen, with air conditioning and good extraction system. And you get to drink really good coffee. Our standards are very high and we recruit people who want to be involved in a company with structure, organisation, clear goals and standards, close contact with the Director and a fun working environment but who will also bring their own passion, enthusiasm and knowledge to the business. We have long term employees within the kitchen providing stability and former employees have left on very good terms and furthered their own careers. Relevant and appropriate experience in a similar environment or in a cafe in Australia or New Zealand is an advantage. A highly competitive rate of pay and working in a professional environment is on offer. Two days off midweek. Position includes most but not all weekends.
