Juice Produce Team Member Vacancy

A Produce Team Member works as part of the Produce team both on the shop floor (serving and assisting customers and merchandising / rotating the produce), in the back stock area (receiving deliveries and organizing the produce). You will maintain a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service as well as supporting the Produce Team Leader and Regional Coordinator in maintaining regional standards.
Duties and responsibilities
Shop Floor

Receives, unloads, and puts away product delivery. Prepares Produce products for the floor displays and Produce cases.
Ensures a fresh and appealing case by checking codes, rotating products, and removing old, damaged, or out-of-date products. This also includes making sure the department maintains the company standards of cleanliness.
Chops, cuts, trims, prepare fruits and or vegetables for value-added programme, fresh fruit salads, and other products.
Maintains correct department signage and pricing.
Answers customer questions and practices suggestive selling.
Assists with sampling programme, keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing.
Value Added

Ensure the best practice of daily setting of the Cut Fruit and Vegetable case as per the guidelines as established by the Regional Coordinator.
Generate daily production list following the minimum core set as established by the Regional Coordinator and based on inventory of items on hand.
Ensure that quality of product, freshness and presentation are always meeting department standards.
Ensure that all items are being made properly, by the correct recipe and/or specification as established by the regional guidelines.
Make sure that proper recipes and spec sheets are available and maintained in good condition.
Maintain information and pricing integrity (ingredient listing, specials)
Follow all shelf life and tare weight guidelines.
Maintain production and "packing" lists, waste sheets, refrigeration temperature charts.

Setting of the case according to proper categories and shelf schematic as per the established guidelines from the region.
Follows and complies with all applicable health and safety and food safety procedures and adheres to safe work practices.
Operates all Produce equipment in a safe and proper manner.
Answers department telephone calls and pages quickly and with excellent phone etiquette.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Store Leadership and Produce Leadership.
Intellectual requirements

Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
Knowledgeably communicate the product line to the customer.
Ability to understand customers’ needs.
Ability to perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with other Team Members and leadership.
A good basic understanding of computer skills desirable.
Ability to understand and complete departmental transfers.
Knowledgeably communicate the product line to the customer.
Physical requirements

Must be able to work up to a maximum of 8-10 hours per day.
Stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break.
Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders.
Bend and lift loads, acceptable for the requirements of the position, unassisted.
Push and pull trolleys, acceptable for the requirements of the position, unassisted.
Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness and to check signage and labelling for accurate pricing.
Demonstrated proficiency in the proper use of a compactor, baler, box cutters / knives, and all related equipment.
Work Environment

Environmental exposure: temperature extremes (coolers, freezer, ovens, outdoors)
Work in a moderately noisy environment.
Work on a variety of floor surfaces including tile and concrete.
