Tapa Tapa at Excel is looking to expand our team and we need a new Sous Chef to join us in the kitchen team due our previous Sous moving on to a new challenge in an alternative cuisine.
Our location at ExCel means we look after a diverse clientele attending event at the Exhibition and Event centre. We combine elegant design with authentic Spanish and Global Tapas made by our team of chefs and a wide selection of native wines, Beers and drinks. Our front of house team deliver exquisite service and make sure that our guests love eating, drinking, relaxing and being in our restaurant. In short we aspire to be the best in the area and are looking for a talented individual to help make that happen.
The Role
We are looking for someone passionate about Tapas and with a creative spirit so our clientele can enjoy new and exciting dishes we sell as specials on a daily basis. Some of the duties in addition to preparing and presenting food are:
Training and mentoring of kitchen team
Ensure we operate a safe and spotlessly clean kitchen
Help manage rotas and staff assignments on a daily and weekly basis
Stock checking, control and ordering.
Accepting deliveries of products and consumables.
Liaise with 3rd parties.
Report to Head Chef, General Manager and ownership on status of business.
Maintain a safe kitchen environment.
Participate in training sessions.
Record keeping and due diligence.

experience
Please only apply if you have significant experience working in a UK chain or independent restaurant and speak good English. This role would suit an existing chef looking for a new challenge in a smaller company where you can truly make a difference.
Pay Rates
The role pays £10 - £12 per hour at starting and also earns gratuities.
