We are a small, independent designer/maker of luxury handcrafted Mirrors and Television Mirrors. Our frames are all made from wood in England and the frames are composed and gilded by hand in our SW8 London workshop.
We are looking to hire staff *(full-time or part-time)* to assist mainly on our installations / occasional work in our workshop.
As most of our installs are of a bespoke product, our installation team need problem solving skills, be handy with drills and are able to use a tape measure. The ideal candidate would have have basic woodwork skills for adapting frames (but not essential), be capable of lifting often heavy mirrors, knowledge of Audio-visual  and basic electrics and the ability to drive a transit van.
Most days we will start from our SW8 workshop.
You will work alongside more experienced fitters until you feel confident to take the lead on installations.
Other work includes; assisting the workshop manager with various jobs from collecting materials to cutting and making frames or working with the technology team on technical problems that need solving and fitting.
The successful applicant will be working alongside a young team of guys – most from art college or creative backgrounds - and so bring with them interesting conversations and lots of practical problem solving ability.
To get on our van insurance applicants must be over 25 years old with a clean driving licence.
Critical skills:
- Hanging frames will be a large part of the role. This is in clients’ homes so exceptional customer service is required.
- Clean driving licence – ability to drive a van. Most installations are in the London area but a willingness to go further afield is essential; we have jobs all over the country with a few trips abroad from time to time.
- NB The position involves handling heavy mirrors so it is a physically demanding role in which a degree of strength is needed. Almost all installation jobs are two persons so you will not be working alone.
These roles are to support our existing team so we can accommodate a flexible work schedule but we need to have clear known days when we know we can rely on you. (To a certain degree we can arrange fittings to accommodate your free time and this can vary from week to week.)
Starting rate: £10/ hour - £12/hour for overtime. Rate can be discussed as we move forward ability dependant.
