About the role
The N Cafe is right at the heart of our Club, serving up fresh and nutritious food for our 90 nursery children in the week and a top-class brunch and supper service at the weekend. We want to create an uplifting, one-of-a-kind experience for all our customers – both big and small – and are looking for a friendly, forward-thinking chef to create and deliver a menu that keeps everybody happy and healthy.
At N, we’re lucky enough to be building everything from scratch. Our brand-new Cafe will be fitted with all-new facilities and a sizable commercial kitchen. Responsible for all production of food on the premises, you’ll be working closely with our General Manager to see that policies and procedures are embedded into the way the kitchen operates.
We’re looking for a someone creative, who’s able to introduce children to a wide range of culinary styles, celebrating London’s diversity. Our chef must also be experienced in meeting the special dietary requirements of all of our customers and meeting our children’s nutritional needs.
What you will be doing
● Cooking fresh and inspiring food for our children from 7am-4pm, Monday-Friday (with breaks).
● Constantly developing and evolving our menu, but in a cost effective manner
● Creating fun and nutritional snacks and dishes for all children attending the nursery, including those with specific dietary requirements (3 snacks/meals a day)
● Delivering best-in-class customer service and maintaining a positive rapport with children and parents.
● Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
● Ensuring that all policies and procedures are in compliance with Environmental Health and Ofsted guidelines, and that all relevant records are kept in line with Health and Safety and Food Hygiene Standards
● When our Family Club opens in November, the role may evolve to 7-day scheduling with responsibilities for delivering our top-class weekend brunch menu
About you
● Passionate and positive (always see the glass half full)

● A love for customer service (making people happy)
● High energy brought to every task you take on, and solution driven approach to problems
● A creative cook who loves working with children and families.
● Able to work quickly and effectively during busy service times.
● Min 2 years’ relevant experience
● Good knowledge of food allergens and child nutrition and able to work to the nursery budget for each child
● Previous experience in cooking to a commercial level / or a nursery kitchen
● Ideally Food Hygiene NVQ Level 2 qualified.
